The Second Annual Hong Kong Baptist University Golf Day
The Second Annual Hong Kong Baptist University Golf Day, held to raise funds for the Hong Kong Baptist University Development Fund, took place on 8 December 2005 at the Eden Course of The Hong Kong Golf Club in Fanling. Officiating at the ceremonial tee-off were Mr. Li Gui Kang, Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of The Central People's Government in HKSAR, Mr. Moses M.C. Cheng, GBS, OBE, JP, Council and Court Chairman, and Professor Ng Ching-Fai, GBS, President and Vice-Chancellor.
With the event enjoying the support of staff, students and alumni of the University as well as business and community leaders from various sectors, the tournament attracted close to 70 golf lovers. Dignitaries who participated included Mr. Kenneth Ting, SBS, JP, Chairman of the Federation of Hong Kong Industries; Ir. Peter Wong, JP, Chairman of the Kowloon City District Council; Mr. Lee Cho Jat, SBS, Chairman of the Chinese-Language Press Institute; Mr. Liu Ching Leung, SBS, JP,Chairman of the N.T. District Adviser Alumni Association; HKBU Court Member Mr. Cheng Sing Yip; Alumnus Eric Ng Ka Lim; Alumnus William Leung Wing Cheung; and Alumnus Wing-Kin So. The corporate teams included Hang Seng Bank, Kum Shing (K. F.) Construction Co., Ltd., iTVentures Ltd., Mutual Property Management Co. Ltd., Ronald Lu & Partners (HK) Ltd., Wu Yee Sun Charitable Foundation Ltd., and Mr. Moses Cheng and teammates. It was encouraging that Professor Ng Ching-Fai, President and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Yiu-Kwan Fan, Vice-President (Development), Dr. Daniel Tse, President Emeritus, and Mrs. Kitty Tse also took part in the event.
The success of the event was attributed to the support given by participants, sponsors, donors, Organizing Committee members, staff, students, alumni and HKBU friends. We should like to express our sincere gratitude to all of them and look forward to their continued support for the University and the forthcoming "Golf Day 2006 Celebrates HKBU Golden Jubilee".
