HKBU opens Centre for Holistic Teaching and Learning and
receives $10m to promote whole person education

‘@‘@The University has recently set up the Centre for Holistic Teaching and Learning to help HKBU fulfil its ideal of whole person education. The Centre will be instrumental in enhancing key aspects of our University 's work such as the quality of our teaching and learning, complementary studies, art and cultural education, servant leadership and a campus environment conducive to learning.

‘@‘@A soft opening of the Centre was held on 29 September. It was with great pleasure that the University received from the Fung Hong Chu Foundation a generous donation of HK$10 million to establish the Fung Hong Chu Endowed Chair of Humanics in support of the work of the new Centre. The donation is an invaluable asset for the University in its drive to deliver quality whole person education.

During the ceremony, Dr. Stephen C. L. Chan, Director of the Centre for Holistic Teaching and Learning, and his students shared their views on activities to promote whole person education. The ceremony was well attended by Council and Court members, cultural and community leaders from various sectors, supporters, staff and students of HKBU.
